How to Choose a Hair Transplant Clinic in Turkey: 10-Point Checklist

Hundreds of clinics compete for your attention. This practical checklist helps you separate certified, doctor-led clinics from risky bargain operations.

Credentials and legal status

First, verify the fundamentals. A legitimate clinic holds a health-tourism authorization, operates in a licensed medical facility, and has a named physician — ideally a dermatologist or plastic surgeon — legally responsible for the procedure. Ask for the supervising doctor's full name and check it against the Turkish medical register.

Treat every answer you cannot verify as a red flag. Real clinics publish their doctors, their facility address and their authorization without hesitation; agencies that resell patients usually hide behind a brand name and a WhatsApp number.

Who actually performs your procedure

Ask directly: who makes the incisions, who places the grafts, and is a doctor physically present throughout? In the best clinics a doctor designs the hairline and leads the operation, with experienced technicians assisting. In the worst, unlicensed staff do everything after a five-minute doctor visit.

Also ask about graft-handling: how long grafts stay outside the body, what solution they are stored in, and how many technicians work per patient. These details predict graft survival better than any marketing brochure.

Evidence: photos, reviews, follow-up

Request unedited before/after photos of patients with your hair type and loss stage, taken at least 9–12 months post-op, ideally from consistent angles. Filtered, angle-shifted photos are the oldest trick in the industry.

Read reviews across platforms and focus on mid-length follow-up comments, not day-one enthusiasm. A serious clinic offers structured follow-up — typically photo check-ins at 3, 6 and 12 months — and answers questions months after you have paid.

Compare before you commit

Get at least three quotes and compare them on technique, graft estimate, supervising doctor, included services and follow-up — not just price. A quote that avoids naming a technique or a doctor is not a quote; it is bait.

The HairCraft app was built exactly for this step: collect anonymous quotes from verified Turkish clinics without revealing your identity, compare them side by side, and only contact the clinic you genuinely trust. Combine that with this checklist and you remove most of the risk from your decision.
