What a 6,000–7,000 graft session costs
In Turkey, a mega-session of 6,000–7,000 grafts typically runs between $2,500 and $5,500 — above the $1,500–$4,000 most clinics charge for a standard 2,000–4,500 graft procedure. The premium pays for two full surgical days, a larger team and longer time under local anaesthesia.
Because most Turkish clinics sell all-inclusive packages instead of charging per graft, the gap between a 5,000-graft and a 7,000-graft quote is often only a few hundred dollars. Ask exactly what the quote assumes: how many session days, whether the second day is included, and whether PRP, medication and the washing kit are extra.
Why most patients don't need 6,000+ grafts
Do the coverage math first: the frontal third needs roughly 1,500–2,500 grafts, the midscalp 1,200–1,800, and the crown 1,200–2,000 for convincing density. Reconstructing all three zones at once can approach 5,000–7,000 grafts — but most candidates at Norwood III–V get a dense, natural result with 3,000–4,500.
Your donor supply is finite: the scalp donor area safely yields roughly 6,000–8,000 follicular units over a lifetime. Spending 7,000 of them in one operation leaves almost nothing for the hair loss that continues behind it, and a future touch-up may require over-harvesting a donor zone that already looks thin.
One session or two — and where the safety line is
Extraction teams generally cap a single day at around 3,000–4,500 grafts. Beyond that, longer harvest time pushes transection rates up and blurs the donor zone, so clinics that quote 6,000+ either split the work across two consecutive days or accept a visibly over-harvested donor.
Two-day sessions in one trip are standard in Turkey: day one handles extraction plus the hairline, day two the midscalp or crown. Ask who opens the incisions and how long the medical team will operate — a team still placing grafts after seven or eight hours is a quality risk no package discount makes up for.
How to evaluate a 7,000-graft offer
Red flags: 'unlimited grafts' promises, refusal to share donor-area photos, a price quoted from photos alone with no trichoscopy, and no named supervising physician. A serious clinic looks at your donor and tells you it cannot support 7,000 — then proposes a staged plan instead.
Collect at least three quotes before committing. In the HairCraft app you can request anonymous offers from verified Turkish clinics in one place, send the same donor photos to all of them, and compare graft plans side by side — then reveal your identity only to the clinic you actually choose.
